The Council is supported in his task by the secretariat. The Secretary Director manages the Secretariat. The Secretary Director is an important link between the Council and the Secretariat. This is reflected for example in the counter signature of the advices. By signing the advices, the Secretary Director declares that the content of the advice is in accordance with what the Council decided in its meeting(s). The signature means that the handling legal advisor acted within his mandate. Furthermore, the Secretary Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Secretariat.
The legal advisors conduct research on behalf of the Council and assists the Council with the writing of its advices. The composition of the Secretariat is as follows:
